Idle thoughts; an inspiration

Idle thoughts are not necessarily from idle minds but rather the material that leads to inspiration.     I will be organizing my idle thoughts into stories and vignettes that I hope will be interesting to those who read and/or follow my posts.  From memories of actual events to fantasies that lighten the day, these will be my inspired, idle thoughts.

  1. I remember Great Grandma Reasor’s house. The gold fish pond that I fell into. It was just a concrete box with a spigot that might have been spring fed,. I am not completely sure about that. I do remember she had cokes in the skinny bottles and candy bars in the fridge. To this day I still love my candy bars cold. More than her DNA runs through me. The impression of place and time. The distilling of memory and history are what distinguishes us from the rest of Creation. Chimps don’t write books. Deer are not fondly recalling days gone by. We however stretch backward in memory all the while leaning forward. I remember when great grandma Reasor died. Dad brought the Goldfish home in a big galvanized trash can in the back of a pickup truck and I think I got a bb-gun from her estate, although I am not sure what she needed it for. We lived in that big 2-story
green shingled house with a screen door and a huge Mulberry tree in the side yard. We grew Okra in our garden and dad kept most of Grandad’s drawings in the upstairs room that had a door to the outside but no balcony and so the door remained locked for the safety of three children…Wow..all that initiated from your memory of Great Grandma Reasor’s Raspberries..
